Career Day brings the future of the automotive sector to life

On October 16, hundreds of students from the automotive and engineering courses at HAN and Fontys gathered for the ACE Mobility Career Day at the HAN Academy of Engineering & Automotive building in Arnhem. More than 50 leading companies participated in the company market, offering students opportunities for internships, graduation projects, and entry-level positions in both engineering and other technical and management roles.

Career Ambitions

During the ACE Mobility Career Day, over 50 prominent engineering and automotive companies showcased themselves to students, offering internships, graduation projects, and entry-level positions. Companies from various sectors, ranging from high-tech manufacturing to sustainable mobility, provided insights into the skills and innovations shaping the industry. Students had the opportunity to directly engage with potential employers and discovered which companies best aligned with their career ambitions. Inspiring thematic sessions gave students a deeper look into topics such as business management, electric mobility, manufacturing, green engineering, and more, helping them explore their areas of interest and specialization.

Hydrogen Track

As part of the Interreg Green Skhy project, a special 'hydrogen track' was set up at the career fair, where students could engage with companies active in the hydrogen sector. Companies highlighted the essential skills needed for the future of hydrogen. In addition to these meetings, a thematic session was organized, fully focused on the developments and challenges within the hydrogen industry.

Demo Square

The day also featured valuable networking conversations and impressive demos on the outside square. The imposing Mammoth from Defenture, PON's Porsches, and buses from Nijwa BV and Volvo drew a lot of attention. Highlights included a tire-changing competition and races in simulators from the student teams HAN Hydromotive and HART, which created a lot of excitement. All in all, the day provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the future of the automotive industry and kickstart their careers.
